Australian native plants are becoming increasingly important to our gardens.   They are:
  • Drought hardy
  • Attract native wildlife including birds
  • Blend with the landscape

For some years, we operated a small nursery at Bullengarook, which is not far from Gisborne.
This nursery is now closed.  However, a similar range of plants is available from the Nursery at the Melton Botanic garden  (see fmbg.org.au).
The Melton Botanic Garden nursery is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (10am to 1pm) and on the 2nd and 4th Sunday mornings (10am to 12noon).  They  produce a range of native plants and some non native plants for gardens, with most well suited to the Melbourne area, especially the western suburbs.

Our experience with many plants in a fairly adverse climate and our contacts with other gardeners in the region enable us to advise on the suitability of plants for a range of conditions.
